1. Age of Entry
d. Mad Max - Super modified over 12 yrs
e. Whacky Races - Theme over 12 yrs
f. Big Kids – over 12 yrs
2. Trolley brakes are compulsory in all classes
3. Drivers deliberately crashing into safety barriers will be disqualified
4. Wheels shall be no greater than 300mm in diameter unless stated otherwise
5. Trolleys shall be “purpose built” for racing. ie no supermarket trolleys or go karts with motors removed
6. Trolleys shall have at least three wheels
7. Safety headgear must be worn for racing, either cycle or motorcycle helmets
8. Protective clothing shall be worn, ie no bare skin! Overalls, gloves and shoes are good
9. Officials will be responsible for starting trolleys – drivers will keep their hands and feet on their trolleys at all times
10. Drivers will remain at the finishing line until released by the Judges
11. Judges decision will be final. No appeals will be considered
Trolley Derby Classes
- Zoomers - 5-8 yrs essentially a trolley of wooden construction and restricted wheel size
- Sprinters - 9-11 yrs - essentially a trolley of wooden construction and restricted wheel size
- Rockets 12-14 yrs - essentially a trolley of wooden or metal construction and restricted wheel size
- Mad Max - Super modified over 12yrs – no design restrictions
- Whacky Races - Theme over 12yrs – essentially an anything goes class, with an emphasis on fun and entertainment – suits corporates and youth groups
- Big Kids – Race for Mums, dads or other big kids. Open to all adults to race their kids cart
